Makeathon Code of Conduct
Purpose: The success of Makeathon relies on the collective creativity and collaboration of all participants. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior to ensure a positive, safe, and inclusive environment. We believe our community should be truly open for everyone. As such, we are committed to providing a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other characteristic. This code of conduct outlines our expectations for participant behaviour, as well as the consequences for unacceptable behaviour whether participating online or in person.
We invite all sponsors, speakers, attendees, media, exhibitors, and other participants to help us realise a safe and positive conference experience for everyone.
Collaboration and Respect:
1. Teamwork: Foster a collaborative spirit and encourage teamwork. Share ideas, skills, and resources with fellow participants.
2. Respect for Others: Treat all participants with respect and consideration. Embrace diversity of skills, backgrounds, and experiences.
3. Inclusive Environment: Create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere that values the contributions of participants from all genders, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and backgrounds.
Safety and Ethics:
1. Safety First: Prioritize safety when working on physical projects. Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate protective equipment.
2. Ethical Conduct: Uphold ethical standards in your work. Ensure that your project is safe, legal, and respects the intellectual property rights of others.
3. Responsible Use of Resources: Use event resources responsibly and report any safety concerns or issues to the organizers promptly.
Professionalism:
1. Adherence to Schedule: Stick to the provided schedule and timeline. Timeliness is crucial for the success of the event.
2. Respect for Equipment: Treat all tools, equipment, materials and facilities with care. Report any damages or malfunctions to the organizers.
Judging and Awards:
1. Fair Play: Respect the decisions of judges. Handle any disputes or disagreements professionally and bring them to the attention of the organizers.
Reporting Violations: If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to Makeathon Organizers/UniAI members immediately. Reports can be made in person or through email address: makeathon@uniai.gr.
Consequences of Violations: Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in actions ranging from a verbal warning to disqualification from the Makeathon, as determined by Makeathon Organizers/UniAI members. Serious violations may also be reported to appropriate authorities.
